In this second successful collaboration with Richard Murphy Architects, Edinburgh, RPP Architects continue to break new ground in mental health. Winner of multiple European & UK Awards.
The new community mental health centre will provide support for those in the North Belfast area coping with mental health issues, bringing together three functions never before co-located.
The building houses a consulting facility where outpatients have appointments to see psychiatric consultants. It also houses a day centre where patients are encouraged to attend for a whole or half day and to engage in various forms of therapy. Finally, there is an eight bedroom short-stay residential facility designed to be an alternative to residence within an acute hospital, where patents might go for between one night and two weeks respite.
